Traditional Law versus Man’s Law

Today I had my teeth cleaned and I ask my new dental hygienist if she was catholic. She said yes, but not practicing. All of you need to be more brave and ask people what faith they are and how you can help them to be traditional catholics. Then I stopped by a friend’s store and ran into a friend and her non-catholic husband. I asked him when can I help him become a catholic. Then I stopped by the post office and knew the postwoman was a non practicing catholic who lost her husband. We talked quite a bit and I offered her confession. She said she has not gone in years. I told her to put a note in my P. O. Box when she is ready. In love you can do a great deal of good for others by giving them the greatest gift, our catholic faith, that then gives them eternal salvation.

Back to the dental hygienist. I begin with how messed up the world is. She said she completely agrees. I ask her how she viewed what is going on. She told me she and her husband had just had a baby and friends asked her how she could bring a baby into this messed up world. She told me “the world is scary”. That is where I started by explaining that the world “is scary” because of SIN. And I help people have faith in the future by returning to God and His Church and His laws. Then things would greatly improve.

What a shame people will not have babies because of the condition of the world. I told her that we mess it up by believing what we believe and doing what we want to do rather than what God wants. She responded something like; “it’s like picking only what you want from religion”.

Christopher Ferrara in his book “Liberty, the God that failed”, really hits the nail on the head by reminding us that God’s laws are divinely revealed. That means that God is God and knows what is good for us, His creatures. So He gives us laws that will help us to be happy and successful and not destroy our souls and other peoples souls. So we need laws from the Bible and the catholic church. Then the government needs to impose those divine laws on citizens for their good. He said that government’s job is to assure the common good of all people. What is the most important common good? Getting everyone to heaven and keeping them from going to hell. We can trust God’s laws because He is smart and love.

Right now the Supreme Court is deliberating on same sex marriage. Here in the USA we have democracy and judicial powers. That is, whatever people decide to vote for becomes good and we put it into law. Lately that has been supplanted by the judiciary powers where a few men and women decide for us, based on their interpretation of the constitution, as to what is good and to be enforced as law.

We can clearly see voting democratically is becoming more and more against God’s laws. Whatever is commonly accepted as good, is voted in as law. Let us look at abortion, marijuana for medical use, viewing pornography as free speach and same sex marriage. As morals break down, the commonly held values change. We get looser and looser in what is wrong and it is reflected in how we vote. Look at the Democrats. Their platform has become killing babies in the womb and homosexual rights. The Republicans are not much better at all. And we make more and more sins legal and the society becomes worse and worse. But people do not get it because they want their particular wishes to become what they decide to vote for.

All the crime and violence comes from sin. All poverty comes from sin. When will we get it. So what is needed right now, is to go against what people may believe is good and legal to what God believes is good and legal. Laws that help society and family come from above, from God written in the Bible. Laws that make you feel good for a little while come from bellow, were people vote on what is right or wrong.

I am very much disliked because I preach what is written in the Bible and what the church has taught for 2000 years. I talked to a friend who had me baptize his child a couple of years ago. He said most of his friends who were there disagreed with what I preached. I tell the parents and godparents that they need to keep these children innocent from the evil in the world such as pornography and Harry Potter, the twilight series, bad friends, drugs, and loosing their faith when they are at school. I preach against what is popular and I am seen as bad. As I said before today what is good is seen as bad, and what is bad is seen as good and if you say the opposite, you are bad too.

We are so fortunate to be traditional catholics and know that God’s laws are right. What man decides is right depends on if God agrees or not. Most people agree something is wrong with the world, but few people think it is because of their value system and what they do personally. Let us continue to be prophets in a world gone wrong, and know you will be hated for it like Jesus was. But at least we know we are making the world a better place for the children.
